The Stadtsportbund Bochum e. V.(SSB-Bochum) ist the head association of all of Bochum’s gymnastics and sports clubs.
It provides service for citizens as well as the clubs and represents the about 400 clubs with its 90.000 members in sportpolitical interests towards other head organisations, the Federal Sports Association, industry, sponsors and media.
The SSB informs citizens about the great variety of sport offers in Bochum, answers questions concerning associational matters, pushes mass sports as well as serious sports in Bochum and supports the collaboration of sports clubs with schools and nursery schools.
Further scopes of duties are the organisation of sport events and the education and further training of the local clubs’staff.
Additionaly, the SSB offers sport courses for everyone, lends out play-items and sport-equipment as well as transportation-vehicles and approves the “German Sports Certificate” in Bochum.
